Description

This course opens a number of routes to students depending on their career ideas. Students under 23 and wishing to use QQI links to access Nursing Degrees will be able to do so through this programme. In addition the course teaches learners the necessary skills to work as care assistants in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, clients own homes and residential settings. Students must undertake 150 hours of work experience as part of this course.

Garda vetting is mandatory for this course and is organised by the College.

Duration

One year full time.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate or equivalent, science subject an advantage, Mature applicants welcome.
Must attend information meeting.

Progression

Students gaining the relevant qualification level may use this course to progress to a number of degrees including a range of Nursing Degrees. This course prepares students for work in the healthcare area.
